Dr. Der practices general dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. He is committed to improving his knowledge and skills through continuing education. Dr. Der has completed the following courses and training programs:

Dr. Lonny Lee is a graduate from the faculty of dentistry at UBC in 1983. He has practiced in Coquitlam and New Westminster for over 20 years. He is an experienced general dentist that has continued to update with the latest in dental developments that he feels will most benefit his many patients. Dr. Lee is an active participating member of the Vancouver and District Dental Society that holds regular seminars on dentistry's newest advances such as cosmetic dentistry, implants, veneers, all porcelain crowns, new root canal techniques.
One discipline that Dr. Lee particularly holds interest in is invisible braces known as Invisalign. He has been certified for 6 years, one of the first in metro Vancouver, just when it became available in Canada. He is now known as a Preferred Provider in BC. In addition Dr. Lee continues to take other educational courses in subjects like bleaching, oral surgery, and sedation. Dr. Lee is fully qualified to oral sedate patients by use of oral drug sedatives and nitrous oxide for adults. Out of the office, Dr. Lee's busy spare time is most happily spent with his wife Anne and 3 year old daughter, Kendra.
Our Team at Northgate Dental Centre:
Michelle, our office manager/receptionist has been with the office since June of 1993. She started in our New Westminster Office (Columbia Square Dental Centre), and then moved to the Coquitlam location in 1995. Through the years Michelle has proven to be an extremely valuable team member. She is familiar with every aspect of the practice. Michelle enjoys reading, writing, the ballet and theatre.
Leila, our hygienist, started with our office in October 1997. Dental hygiene is very important part of our practice. Many people appreciate Leila's soft and kind touch when it comes to the dental hygiene process. She puts many fears at ease. People are pleasantly surprised at how truly easy the appointments are. Leila enjoys spending time with her pets, painting and gardening.
Lynn, CDA, Lynn has been with us since March 2008. Not only is she an extremely capable employee, Lynn works with care and concern for every patient. She understands for some, a dental visit can be an anxious experience and she does her best to make it as comfortable as possible. Lynn is bright funny person who never fails to make everyone around her feel a little lighter and a little happier
Our Team at Marine Way Dental Centre:
Heather, our office manager/receptionist, has been with our office since 1996. She started at our New Westminster office then moved to the South Burnaby office. She knows all of our patients by name and she enjoys seeing all of our patients at the new location. She has a 20yr old son she enjoys spending time with. Heather is fun and constantly keeps patients laughing and looking forward to coming back.
Deanne, CDA, has been with us since 1996. She has had a few breaks over the years to have two children, Nathan and Charlotte. She puts our patients at ease with her friendly manner. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Kristy, CDA, started with our team in March 2009. She came to us from Kaslo BC where her parents currently reside. Kristy brings with her her young vibrant attitude and the ability to help patients feel relaxed. She understands the anxiety patients have towards dentistry and can answer any questions patients may have with confidence and understanding.
Vanisa, Hygienist, has been with us since October 2009. She graduated from University of the Fraser Valley in 2009. Dental Hygiene is extremely important to our practice and Vanisa explains the importance to our patients with sensitivity and encourages them to maintain a 3-4 month hygiene schedule. She has a gentle approach to hygiene and our patients are happy with the way their teeth feel after their hygiene appointment.
Vanisa is also currently completing her Bachelors of Dental Science at UBC. When Vanisa is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
